There are TONS of amazing accessories in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog! Here’s a scrapbook page that I created using a bunch of them!

Scrapbook page with Stampin' Up! Accessories

Scrapbook Page Instructions:

I started with a 12″ x 12″ piece of Certainly Celery cardstock – and I lightly rubbed my Certainly Celery ink pad all over it to give it a worn/weathered look.

Then I adhered my photo to the page – and just started adding accessories. That’s it!

You can look at the supply list below to see what items I used; but here are a few notes:

I sponged Marina Mist ink on the bird punch body to give it a more dimensional look – and to make the wing (which does not have ink on it) stand out more.

The brown leaves outline is not a stamp. I just outlined the Little Leaves die cut with my Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker!

I also used my Chocolate Chip marker to color in the the embossed areas on my Daffodil Delight butterfly.

Stampin’ Up! Stamping Supplies:

Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, and Early Espresso cardstock
Certainly Celery Classic Ink pad
Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker

Instructions:

Use 2 sheets of 12″x12″ Barely Banana cardstock for your pages.

Cut a large piece of Sweet Pea patterned paper and position it off-center of your 2-page layout. Cut the paper along the seam between the 2 pages. (If you don’t have any Sweet Pea paper, some alternate choices include Cottage Wall, Kaleidoscope, and Tea Party Designer Series Paper.)

Adhere your photos to the pages. Tuck a punched curly label underneath two of the photos.

Create faux stitching on the patterned paper with a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker. I also swiped the tip of my marker along the edges of several of the other smaller pieces of paper too (the scallop circle title block, the journaling strips, and the punched pieces).

Following the edge of the patterned paper on one page, crease a large length of satin ribbon, adhering each fold to the page with a glue dot. Repeat with the patterned paper on the second page.

Create a small loop of ribbon and adhere it to the back side of the top of the second page.

Adhere Sweet Pea stitched felt pieces and die-cut flowers. (If you don’t have any Sweet Pea stitched felt, you could also use Flower Fusion felt flowers or Fleurettes II crocheted flowers.)

Adhere small cardstock strips and journal on top.

Adhere die-cut letters to a scallop circle for the tite. Adhere to layout with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

It’s National Scrapbooking Month – so let’s get some scrappin’ done this month!

To get your creative juices flowing, I’m going to be posting several scrapbook page layouts over the next few days. These layouts were created with the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt and Designer Series Paper Pack that were available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Unfortunately these products are no longer available so hopefully you have already ordered them! But don’t worry if you didn’t get your order in…. there are many ways these layouts can be adapted to fit the paper and products you are already have — or products that are available from this year’s Idea Book & Catalog or the new Summer Mini Catalog! I will give you some ideas on what products you could substitute too.

Here’s today’s layout:

Scrapbook Layout with Sweet Pea Felt and Paper

There are many options with this layout:

You can put 6×4 photos in the 6 large squares and save the smaller squares for smaller photos, journalling, or just left “as is”.

You could use one of the 6×4 squares for your title and/or one for journaling.

You can use no photos at all… and just add lots of journaling! For example, this page would be a great page to highlight your 5 favorite things about spring.

Instructions:

Cut squares of patterned paper to fill up your 12×12 paper, leaving an evenly-spaced border around the edges of each square.

Rub a Basic Brown Classic ink pad along the edges of each piece of patterned paper.

Adhere pieces to 12×12 Whisper White cardstock.

Glue felt pieces and butterfly punch-out to the layout, overlapping the edges of the patterend paper pieces (to break up the straight lines a bit).

Add photos, journalling, and/or a title as you see fit!

What to do if you don’t have Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper or Stitched Felt:

Use a different patterned paper pack. For a summer or vacation layout, the new Island Oasis paper from the Summer Mini Catalog would work great! There are also several different paper packs available in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. The nice thing about Stampin’ Up!’s paper packs is that all the papers coordinate the other papers in the pack, so you can’t go wrong when trying to match your papers! I like to try to mix stripes with dots — and small prints with large prints.

Substitute flowers from the Pretties Kit, Flower Fusion felt flowers or Fleurettes II crocheted flowers for the stitched felt. Or use cut-out stamped images, punches, or die-cut pieces.

Instead of using Basic Brown to edge your papers, try Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Going Grey, or any dark coordinating color of your choice.

The Fox & Friends set is so adorable! Inpsired by the Nursery Alphabet Décor Elements, these fun and furry animals are versatile enough to be used for just about any project, ranging from cards, to scrapbooks, to fun 3-D gifts. And the stamp set is available in both wood-mount and clear-mount. Here’s a look at all seven stamps in the set:

<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-463" title="fox-friends-stamp-set" src="http://craftinup.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/fox-friends-stamp-set-150x150.jpg" alt="Stampin' Up!
To make my title letters and punched circles stand out, I inked their edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I also adhered the circles to the page with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give them even more “pop”! This definitely was a quick-and-easy layout!

The background pages are from the Holiday Lounge Designer Series paper pack. The original paper had the trees in a different color (Taken with Teal) – that didn’t match my photos. So I cut out my trees from different Designer Series paper (Merry Moments) that did match my photos. Then I just adhered them on top of the paper!

I made “tree trunks” from grosgrain ribbon. One end of the ribbon is adhered underneath my cut-out trees and the other end is adhered to the back of the pages.

Notes:

I cut out the larger ornaments from the Designer Series paper- and attached them to the pages with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The ornaments are “hanging” from gold cord that is adhered to the back of the pages.

I colored in some of the dots & lines on the ornaments - and added in my title – with the white gel pen.

I also used the white gel pen to draw in the stitching. It’s so easy… just free-hand the stitches and it looks great!
